Teach Em' to Fish - Professional Texas Freshwater Fishing Guide on Lake LBJ

I cannot remember a time when fishing was not a part of my life. South Texas, where I grew up, was a wonderful place for fishing, especially at Falcon Lake and in Mexico. In the early 70's, while in college, I was introduced to bass fishing tournaments and I was instantly hooked (pun intended). I fished many tournaments and some special fishing buddies (now renown pros), encouraged me to fish the BASS circuit with them; however, raising my kids took priority. Through the years as time permitted, I guided part-time but my real focus was as a full-time single parent holding a full-time job. Now, with grown kids and retired from corporate life, my energy is directed towards being a full-time freshwater fishing guide.

My passion is learning to be a better angler and sharing my knowledge through educational training, on and off the water. I am blessed with the desire, perseverance and patience to instruct others. I relish every opportunity to promote fishing and education. When you're ready for a personally guided fishing trip or need a Christian speaker and educator, give me a call and schedule a date.

First and foremost, each guided outing is catered to you, whether it's a family day or you're an experienced angler. Tell me your goals and interest for the outing, then ask all the questions you want, and learn all you can during our time together. You should expect to improve your knowledge & skills, and catch fish. Even though I cannot guarantee you will catch fish, no one tries any harder.
I have an unquenchable desire to understand what causes fish to bite or not bite. Therefore, I push myself to concentrate while I patiently strive to unlock the keys. Whether you have a similar personality or just want to experience a pampered outing, I go the extra mile for you.

Lures, tackle, snacks, water, soft drinks and even sun block are all provided. If you need special accommodations, I will make arrangements or decline the trip.

You have many fishing guide choices, but it's hard for me to conceive of anyone who will work harder to create an enjoyable, educational and memorable experience.

I look forward to spending time with you on the water.

Fishing Report from TPWD (Nov. 20)

GOOD. Water stained; 65 degrees; 0.25 feet below pool. Crappie are fair on minnows in 12-20 feet of water on brush. Channel and blue catfish are good on punch bait in 20-24 feet of water over drop-offs and rock piles. Report by Jess Rotherham, Texas Crappie Fishing Service. Bass are very good with catches up 6-8 pounds in the grass with chatterbaits, rattle traps and crankbaits. Brush piles in 8-15 feet with shad colored crankbaits, and 7-10 inch June bug or pumpkin worms. Bass are under the docks with ⅜ ounce jigs and frogs. The morning bite has been best. Crappie are good with minnows over brush piles. Report by Charles Whited, Barefoot Fishing Tours. Bass are good working docks and bulkheads with creature baits, worms and flukes. A frog or topwater around underwater vegetation is working well. Do not forget a wakebait in those same areas. Report by Bryan Cotter, Texas Hawgs. This lake has a lot of vegetation in shallow water. Focus on these areas near deeper water, 10 feet, has been loaded with fish with creature bait, or Texas rigged worms. Fish are not very big but good numbers can be caught. Back of canals in shallow water under docks with a weightless senko. Water is stained more than normal so fish will relate to structure and banks. Report by Randal Frisbie, Central Texas Fishing Guide, LLC.
